When the potential customer considers an online purchase, often he will first search for reviews or comments about the product or service. If you want to be serious about increasing your affiliate income, you need to take the time to provide these visitors with quality content. The reward will definitely exceed the time involved in the additional effort.
Add your own personal to the site. If you try to build the site from something you are not related to and have no personal interest in, the site will pretty soon becomes a painful and boring task. Try to stick with what you known and what are your interests in initial phase. Then, start building up from there.
Banners, banners, banners. If success in affiliate marketing could be achieved from throwing pages of banners - then the world would be full of millionaires. A site with pages of banners or rows banners stuffed under content is counterproductive and detrimental, apart from making your site look pretty ugly.
There is no Magic Pill, and certainly NO Best Merchant Program. Some people might succeed with a merchant where many others will fail. Remember to a merchant based on what you know. In the very beginning, when you have just one small site, it will be easy to swap out all the links if the chosen merchant doesn’t work out.
For busting purposes, use multiple merchants in the same niche. As previously advised, select a merchant based on what you like -your interests and aspirations. Promotion of several merchants on the same site will provide visitors a wide range of destinations to choose from. Doing this will provide you with data on what your visitors want to see, and can also provide yourself with important information on how efficiently different merchants perform against each other when put head to head.
In the serious of nonexistent things, we may also add the following one:
There is no Best Network.
This is even truer when you consider that a number of great programs are not even belonging to a network at all. Every network has its strong points, and the best approach is to base the network selection based on the tools it provides for you. Also make sure take into consideration if the network has the merchants you want to work with. Sometimes joining a wrong Network is necessary because they have a merchant you really need to sign up with. It is beneficial to try a merchant from all the main networks, see what works best for you, and then focus your time accordingly.
